Gondola Shelving
Gondola Shelving is very useful for creating a visually appealing retail area while maximizing your space. If you have been buying gondola shelving for years, or if you’re just beginning to think about using gondola shelves in your business, we hope to clarify some of the industry terminology.
Let’s start with the term Gondola Shelving. This is the metal shelving often used in grocery stores, convenience stores, auto parts stores, drug stores and many other retail locations. it is put together in sections to create rows and aisles.
Wall Units are single-sided, designed to be placed against the wall. We typically sell these with a base shelf and 4 upper shelves.
Floor Units, also known as Island Gondolas are double-sided units designed to be placed in the center or your retail merchandising space to create aisles and can be configured with shelves or display space on both sides. These are sold at Reeves with a base shelf plus 3 upper shelves.
End Caps finish of the aisle and are considered prime display areas. Use your end caps to their full potential by showing of your featured products, sale items, and attention-grabbing displays here. These are also sold with a base shelf and 3 upper shelves.
A Starter is the first section in a row. A Starter Section can stand alone, or additional sections can be added to create a continuous row of shelving.
Add-ons are the additional sections which can be added to a Starter Section to create a row.
We sells sections that are complete, but some companies sell a “Starter Kit” or sell the parts individually. When you are pricing Gondola Shelving, be sure to ask if the sections come complete or will additional parts be needed.
